From Castle Combe to Congleton
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for us here at Future Land we’ve just returned from a quick trip up North to meet the Gladman crew at their office in Cheshire before which we held our very first golf day….
Steve recently calculated he had been on over 90 corporate golf days in his 10 years running the business. This realisation lead to us quickly planning our own event.
Our golf day was a little different to the standard that Steve was used to, however. We had both ‘professionals’ and ‘putters’; ‘professionals’ spending the day getting the ball to the green and ‘putters’ putting the ball from there on. It was an opportunity to include a wider variety of guest than would usually be invited to such an event, which was vital for us.
The day provided a stress free environment for us to talk all things land, without the pressures of boardrooms or deadlines. With four four balls making their way around the beautiful grounds at The Manor House Golf course in Castle Combe our guests were able to establish closer relationships with work colleagues and discuss the future of the industry. We then rounded off the sun filled day with a dinner at the Castle Inn in the village centre which was the perfect end to what turned out to be a great day.
We would very much like to thank those that came to play for their wonderful company and the staff at both The Manor House Golf Club and the Castle Inn that helped make the whole day so enjoyable.
Following this, a week or so later our bags were packed once more to travel the 150 miles to Congleton in Cheshire to visit Gladman Strategic Land. We had the pleasure of an office tour before sitting down with various members of the team, including David Gladman himself who was able to outline the future of the business and how we might assist them all moving forward.
The whole team at Gladman were extremely hospitable and we very much look forward to working with them closely over the coming years.
